Bradford Industrial Museum

We had lots of fun at Bradford Industrial Museum. We dressed up as Victorian school children and teachers, and did lots of exciting activities. Take a look at some of the snaps we took below...

This is Mr Thurlow getting into character as a strict Victorian school Master.

This is the "Master" who told us lots of information about life in Victorian Textile mills.

We spent the afternoon in a Victorian School room. We wrote on slates with slate pens and practiced using ink pens, ink pots and blotting paper. The Master was very strict. We couldn't talk, and we had to stand up when we wanted to ask or answer a question. Luckily none of us had to stand in the corner wearing the Dunces hat!

This horse is called Murdock and he pulled us in this cart around the outside of the mill. It was very rickety and bumpy! In Victorian times, poor children would have been very lucky to ride on a horse and cart. We had fun, but we were very glad we didn't have to travel by horse and cart all the way home!

Welcome to the Class 3-4T blog!!!!

Miss Thackeray and Mrs Charlesworth welcome you to our brand new class blog. In this blog, children from our class will share stories, ideas and experiences, as well as write book reviews and add descriptions of the school trips we have been on. The first main blog will be about our trip to the Bradford Industrial Museum, where we learned more about our topic, Victorians. Watch this space....
